[Forum] Please, help with upgrade steps from 4.2.0 to actual version

    Hello,
Please, help me with upgrade steps from version 4.2.0 to the actual version.
I have a big forum with 800K posts, that haven't been updated from a long time. There is some issues and I need immediately to do the upgrade - for example facebook login don't work.

Please help me - I need to upgrade direct with Security patch: 4.2.3 Forum PL2 or there is previous steps?
My forum has in additional VBSeo installed and use rewrites... Will this cause a problems?

Is there a paid service from you about this upgrade?

#1 Ditch VBSEO asap. It has been a dead product for a long time and has many vulnerabilities. Puck up DragonByte DBSEO as a replacement. <br />

Otherwise VB upgrades are as simple as uploading and running the installer. As for any other add-ons you will have to verify compatability.

      1) Disable VBSEO. It isn't secure or supported.

      2) Add the redirect to send VBSEO links to your actual site. See this thread: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum...stalling-vbseo

      3) Download vBulletin 4.2.3 from the Member's Area, the full product and not the patch.

      4) Unzip vBulletin 4.2.3

      5) Make a backup of your database through your web hosting provider's control panel.

      6) Upload the contents of the upload folder to your server and overwrite your existing vBulletin files.

      7) Point your browser to your site with /install/upgrade.php at the end of the URL.

      8) Step through the upgrade script.

It is the same as any 4.X upgrade in the past. You click begin and it starts the script. If it needs information from you, a dialog box pops up on your screen.
