[Suite] Test site as sub domain

The blog was not very informative about where to park the test copy and it's been a good while since I needed to have one. Could some one give me the Readers Digest version of where it can be parked? I know it has to be invisible to the public and it foe testing purposes only. Would a sub domain do?

We recommend a sub folder called /testvb, however this is not essential. It can be on a subdomain if you prefer, as long as it's not public.
Note that 'not public' means not visible in any way - it's not enough to have the board visible but closed. .htaccess protection is the usual method.
