vb 4.2.3 installation got stuck on 50%

Hi,

The title speaks for itself. I am hosted at godaddy. I tried to install the forum in different dirs and databases.
Nothing seems to work.

I created a database and a user, I merged them in cPanel.

I am positive that I configured the config file correctly.

please help me out

In addition: I found on the internet that changing the url to upgrade.php will possibly work. The upgrade got stuck on 84%

I tried to change the url back to install.php. It got stuck on 50% again

I have solved the problem. Well here is the solution for the people with the same problem who are desperately searching for the solution.

When your regular installation get stuck. change the url from /install/install.php to install/upgrade.php
If the upgrade gets stuck aswell. Just reload the page. There might be a chance that your server crashes like mine did. Just wait a minute or two and refresh again.
Bit by bit your installation will finally complete.

maybe you lost the connection when you setup this version

or hosting in bad connection

maybe something else !!

I was having the same problem. When I changed install.php to upgrade.php it continued on, but now it hands at 84%.

Please adjust the php memory limit to 256 MB and change the timeout to 300.
