4.2.3 access to modcp functions denied for administrators

When trying to access the list of banned users in admincp, we've found out that modcp functions visible in admincp are not accessible to admins after the upgrade to 4.2.3.

This is the message we get when trying to access any of the mod functions:

You don't have permission to access /modcp/banning.php (etc) on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Admins used to have permissions for all of these. What can be done to revert the changes?

    Thanks

The error message is from the server, not vBulletin. Do you have an .htaccess authorizing access in that directory? If so, the user is probably not authorized.

Talk to your server administrator. We do not include such files.
