    [Forum] Upgraded from 3.5 to 4 ... but old database not showing!

    Hi all

    I have just upgraded the forum software. However, it looks like it made a new installation, not merely upgraded. How can I get it back to connect to my old database? I have entered the correct settings in config.php ...

    I think what I have done, is run install.php instead of upgrade.php! I will run upgrade.php now and see if that helps ...

    That hasn't worked ...

    If you ran install and chose to delete the tables, running Upgrade.php won't do anything - you need to restore the backup you took before starting the upgrade process and then run upgrade.php again after that.
    Vote for:

    - Admin Settable Paid Subscription Reminder Timeframe (vB6)
    - Add Admin ability to auto-subscribe users to specific channel(s) (vB6)

      Actually, I see the database is still on my server .. 1.97GB. What should I do?

      My upgrade is aborted. This is the message I am getting:

      Unexpected Text:
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?><?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?><error>Could not create file system directory to hold your attachment.</error>

        Were your attachments stored in the filesystem previously? Are the folders still CHMOD 0777 if they were?
