A friend of mine accidentally deleted his old forum folder (phpBB3), and has asked me to replace the old forum with vBulletin 4 (patch level 2) on his site. Can anybody advise as to how I go about doing this? I've uploaded the new forum software with config.php filled out to connect to the existing database.

I'm unable to open it. I've re-downloaded it and it won't open - it says it's empty and the file is 0kb. I also tried it as a tarball and again it's a zero kb file which won't openComment

Hu? i was just trying it and it looks good to me. So you klicked 'Download Impex' in your customer area, agreed with the terms of the vBulletin License Agreement and the download started right away?No private support, only PM me when I ask for it. Support in the forums only.Comment

Yes, download appears to be OK but the file is 0kb and won't open.

Can somebody help me with this please? Every time I download it it's just an empty 0kb file.Comment

I had this the other day but trying again worked for me.
Also, have you tried a different browser? What one are you using?Comment

Using Chrome the Impex file downloaded OK.
My next question - can I not use the original database for the new vBulletin installation? Do I have to create a new one in order to do this? I'm being asked for a source and destination databases in the set up script.Comment

Source - where you're pulling the data from
Destination - where you're importing to (whether a new installation or an existing site)Comment
