    [Suite] Trouble installing on Dremahost

    Greetings,

I am trying to configure my Vbulletin for Dreamhost and am getting this error.

Due to the following errors, the install/upgrade can not continue:
    • The database has failed to connect because you do not have permission to connect to the server. Please confirm the values entered in the includes/config.php file
    • Error description: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'VC'@'ds3057.dreamservers.com' (using password: YES) /home/VC/VC.com/includes/class_core.php on line 317

    Any advice?
    Merci

Check to make sure that the details you entered into includes/config.php are correct and the MySQL user has permission to access the database.

You need to check with your host what details you'll need for the vBulletin config.php file if you don't know what these are.
        Vote for:

        - Add Admin ability to auto-subscribe users to specific channel(s) (vB6)

          Now we have this problem....

I corrected the database username in the config.php file which was
          contained some uppercase letters.

Now the software is complaining about /includes/class_bootstrap.php which
          does not exist:

          Warning: require_once(./includes/class_bootstrap.php)
[function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory
          in /home/vampyrealmanac/vampyrealmanac.com/global.php on line 15

You might try uploading the file OR the entire includes folder again.

Have you tried reuploading the files?

Dreamhost requires you setup a domain based hostname for your databases. By default Dreamhost uses mysql.yourdomain.com

Short of that create a new user for the database and change your details in config.php

Big Dan, his error is that it can't find a file, nothing to do with MySQL right now by the look of his error.

Can you start a support ticket?
