    Morning all...So I've been working on upgrading my forum (test install) from 3.8.6 to 4.2.0...ran into the collation error and have that all fixed up...But got to the following section:

    You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ' 3, 'BaseWidget', 'config', 'Config'), (, 3, 'BaseWidget', 'edit', 'Edit')' at line 5
    Query:

    INSERT IGNORE INTO action (routeid, packageid, controller, useraction, classaction) VALUES (, 3, 'BaseWidget', 'config', 'Config'), (, 3, 'BaseWidget', 'edit', 'Edit')[/LIST]
    I was messing around with the impex software (not on this upgrade here) and ran into a TYPE/ENGINE change that needed to be completed in the impex/index.php file...Now I know that the impex stuff has nothing to do with this

    Any thoughts as to what needs to be changed in the system to get it to move forward on the upgrade?

    Thanks.

    - - - Updated - - -

    I should add that the 3.8.6 install was a "FORUM ONLY" install and the 4.2.0 install is the SUITE with mobile/cms/blog.

        In your config.php file change:

        $config['Database']['dbtype'] = 'mysql';

        to:

        $config['Database']['dbtype'] = 'mysqli';

        Uncomment this line:
        // $config['Mysqli']['charset'] = 'utf8';

        Set this line to true:
        $config['Database']['force_sql_mode'] = false;

        Upgrade your PHP to 5.3.13

        None of the rest of that is really relevant.

          changes made to config.php as outlined above.

          php version is 5.3.13 now.

          Did fresh copy of live database...changed all collations...disable hooks is present in config.php
          Went though the whole upgrade process up to the same point as before and then ...........

                For everyone else who comes across this:

                $config['Database']['force_sql_mode']

                Was set to true, change to $config['Database']['force_sql_mode'] = false;
