Upgrading from 4.1.4 to 4.2.2 (latest)

I want to upgrade to the latest VB4 from 4.1.4, but I'm not sure if this will be wise. I have a very custom style that I payed to get made for my forum (4.1.4). I'm not sure if the upgrade will break my forum or not. And I really don't feel like paying another $500 to get my custom style made for 4.2.2. What should I do? My website is on my profile if you need to see it.

Install a test site as a clone of your actual site www.yoursite.com/test (it has to be password protected, ie not open to the public) and try upgrading the test site to see what happens.

Oh ok, I didn't know I was allowed to install vbulletin in 2 different locations on my server. But like you said, it must be hidden from the public, by password protecting the folder. I will try that. Thank you!
