Upgrading from 4.2.1 Patch Level 1 to 4.2.2 Patch Level 1

We are preparing to upgrade from 4.2.1.PL1 to 4.2.2 PL1 and I was told by a tech guy with whom we've worked in the past that the upgrade is not necessary. He states that the security issue mentioned in an alert dated 3-13-2014 is already covered by 4.2.1 PL1. Can this possibly be true?

If you have applied the patch manually to your 4.2.1 forum as described here http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum...s-for-vb-4-x-x then you are covered.

I would say go ahead and do the upgrade as it is always best to be on the latest version.
