[Forum] HELP THE LADY OUT - BLANK PAGE on INSTALLATION

I'm using mySQL 5.5 and the latest in PHP. Everything is up-to-date and fresh on my server. I'm using the most recent vBulletin version. I created a database on the server. I altered the config.php file to match the information for the database. I then uploaded the entire folder of files. When I go to MYDOMAIN.NET/FORUM_FOLDER_OF_CHOICE/install/install.php I end up with a blank page in my browser and not the login screen for installation, where it requires your vBulletin password / client key.

What the heck am I overlooking? This blonde is running out of air and not coming back up for more.

I uploading everything as the root user, but I'm not sure of any other way to upload it under the "client" / user level. I'm not sure if this has to do with anything, or the fact that I didn't name the folder "forums". What in the world am I overlooking? I'm sure it's just something obvious and I'll be kicking myself in the butt later.

Add the following to your config.php under <?php

ini_set("display_errors", true);

What is the output now?

Adding ini_set("display_errors", true); still gives me a blank page.... hmm...

Have you gone through the posibilities on this page:

Checking your server's error logs should also highlight where the issue is

I've also tried ini_set('memory_limit', -1); , I tried reuploading using ASCII.... clicking refresh.... yikes! permissions on the files maybe?

I'm looking at the error logs and I see the path as /var/www/vhosts/domain.net/httpdocs/ Is this what the config path should be in the config file?

No, you don't need to set a path there. What errors are showing in the logs?

Based on what I'm googling, it has something to do with a client management system that I might have installed or came with the server? interfering?

Could be a file permission problem. Does your server use phpSUExec?

Perhaps you would be willing to open a support ticket so one of our technicians can get a closer look at your server setup through FTP and your hosting control panel. We would be better able to determine the issue that way.

I went through the file permissions. They all match 644 and 755 for folders. I'm wondering how to look if my server using phpSUExec ? I'm trying to learn as well, and it doesn't help if someone does it for me. lol
