    [Suite] Ugrade Error 4.1.4

I truly hope that one day I will be able to upgrade vBulletin per the instructions and everything go smooth, until then...

Closed forum, turned off plugins, uploaded files, started to run the upgrade and got the following:

An error has occurred. Please contact vBulletin Support for assistance.
    Module: vbblog, Step 15 Error.
Failed to write css files. Please make sure that the directory 'clientscript/vbulletin_css' is writable.

This directory and its sub-directories are chmodded to 777, verified.

I opened a ticket a couple of hours ago (probably should have started this thread then), but no help yet... hoping to see if someone else might know something to do so I can get our forum back up and running. While it's not an overly busy forum, I don't want it to be down any longer than it has to be.

    Any assistance is appreciated.

      Huh?

I stated that I have verified the directory and sub-directory are already 777.

What exactly is the help that you are providing besides telling the OP repeatedly:

Can you double check that the vbulletin_css file is indeed chmooded as well? Because sometimes chmodding a directly as a whole won't chmodd a file/files inside that directory.

Support got it sorted out for me. Apparently there were some ownership issues with the directories. I think this has been a frequent issue with upgrades for whatever reasons.

I have had this same exact problem. All directories were chmoded to 777. But I also noticed a discrepency with the ownership of a .css file. I made the change and now my question is....do I re-start the whole upgrade process or do I need to start at Step 15 somehow? Thanks.

Ok, I re-started and the same error comes back up.

                          vbulletin_css 777
                          -style-20e3736f-00010.css 777

                          style00010r 777
                          index.html 755

All files within the style folders are 644
All files have the correct ownership

                          Please advise
