[Forum] vbulletin-settings.xml: Is it valid between versions?

I have my forum options all backed up in file: vbulletin-settings.xml. This was saved from Ver4.1.1

What should I expect if I load it into a clean install of the new Ver4.1.2 ? Will it be read in OK or will it be ignored due to the version difference?

Is there any reason you're trying to restore your settings into a 4.1.2 version?
I honestly don't use it much, it is possible but unlikely that it will break something.

There's a good reason. I'm setting up my forum with a clean install, and I've used the new 4.1.2.

I plan to get it customised before importing users and posts from my existing live (non-vBulletin) forum.

So far, all the customisation I've done has been using 4.1.1 and I've saved templates and other custom features in .xml files using the facilities provided in vBulletin.

4.1.2 accepted my 4.1.1. vbulletin-style.xml file, but seemed to silently ignore my 4.1.1 vbulletin-settings.xml.

I thought I had better ask for advice sooner rather than later.

Some settings wont be preserved.

AFAIK, importing a vb settings file will not overwrite any existing settings, just add any missing ones (of which they shouldnt be any).
