Try reuploading the vBulletin 4 files.

i did try that several times, doesn't seem to help.
sorry should have mentioned that in first post.

I upgraded first from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 but had an error with customized style, and started from scratch.

At what point do you get that?

Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

I uploaded v4.1.1 again and get the same error.
Mayby it's a browser error or a problem with my computer or a problem with the server from the host.
            I'll try again tomorrow.

If this is truly a fresh install and not an upgrade, then you may want to empty the database (providing you do not share this db with other applications.)

i did empty the database (which is not shared by any other application), i even deleted it in my cp and made a new one, but i still seem to get the same result for some reason.
I never had that problem before.

You cannot get the error in post #5 with an empty database.

i stand corrected, once i deleted it from the install menu.
sorry, i'm getting confused and it's getting late here, i forgot about that one.

I managed to install v4.1.0 patch level2 and succesfully upgraded to v4.1.2.
v4.1.1 and v4.1.2 still gave me the same error as mentioned in first post.

Thanks for the quick response and the help.
