    You havent completed the upgrade correctly from 4.0.7 > 4.1.1

    Specifically - database changes in 4.1.0 Beta are missing.

    Did you actually re-run the upgrade after it got stuck ?

      No.. those emails are being sent because people/bots are visiting his site, with the new files that expect the new database structure.

        Well, all those emails are sent when it tries to do the update to 4.0.8... im not even to 4.1.0 yet!

        And yes, i re-run the upgrade at least 3 times, it worked the 1st time timm 4.0.7 and now, like i said, its stuck there!

            TBH, Im a little unclear on which step exactly your upgrade is sticking.

            4.0.8 Step 2 is simply a table creation step - if you are sticking on that then you have a mysql problem.

              Its sticking on

              Step 14 - Updating searchgroup_text table / Status: Processing 4.0.8, Step 15 of 16

              And the SQL process running is Sending data ### vBulletin Database Alter ### DELETE searchcore_text FROM searchcore_text LEFT JOIN search

              And on this step, i receive hundred of emails with the following text

              Database error in vBulletin 4.0.7:

              Invalid SQL:

              INSERT IGNORE INTO session
              (sessionhash, userid, host, idhash, lastactivity, location, styleid, languageid, loggedin, inforum, inthread, incalendar, badlocation, useragent, bypass, profileupdate, apiclientid, apiaccesstoken)
              VALUES
              ('4e182b17dad46fcf5c5e991df97bd217', 0, '67.195.115.109', '275a8199bb5f62a2602bca23ef1bb205', 1295120060, '/forum/showthread.php?175013-Gros-spcial-chip-Dyno-Unitronic-V-A-G-Motorsport/page3', 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 2, 'Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Yahoo! Slurp; http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/ysearch/slurp)', 0, 0, 0, '');

              MySQL Error : Unknown column 'apiclientid' in 'field list'
              Error Number : 1054
              So i guess with so many errors all the time, the SQL server crash or something like that

                    That does not stop people from trying to access your site, hence the error.

                        Close the site (htaccess) while the upgrade is going on.

                          Ok, that may solve the emails part, but why does the database doesnt goes pass the step 15 ?

                                This may be a server time and/or memory limit. To increase your limits edit your includes/config.php file and add these lines right under the <?php line:

                                ini_set('memory_limit', -1);
                                ini_set("max_execution_time", "2880");
