How to secure a site when users have IMG tags within their posts?

I'm having troubles securing a site...

I followed these instructions to convert my site to HTTPS:

CONVERTING YOUR FORUM TO HTTPS Applies to self-hosted versions of: vBulletin3; vBulletin4; vBulletin5; Cloud sites have https enabled by default and you do not need to do anything. This FAQ explains how to

The majority of the site shows the secure padlock, with the exception of any thread that has images.

To check on a thread not showing a secure padlock, I went to this site:

Why No Padlock? - Why is my SSL web page insecure? Find the culprit!

And the insecure URL's are coming from photobucket images that users have posted.

How do I secure a site with HTTPS when users have IMG tags within their posts for third party images?

There's no good way. For photobucket you could perhaps look at the URL to photobucket then use a Replacement Variable in Style Manager in the Admin CP to replace http;//whatever to https://whatever but that won't work with all sites.

There are discussions on vBulletin.org on ways around this with custom code and 3rd party add-ons.

i wonder if cloudflares "frontend" encryption would avoid the errors...i believe thats the idea, although i havent tried...they also have an option to try to use https in cases where sites serve both ways but that wont help for some like photobucket
