Is it possible to put a board in read only mode?

I don't want to close it but have it so people can browse it but not post on it. How do I do this?

You can edit the permissions so users do not have access to post... Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager for the defaults. Then Forums & Moderators -> Forum Permissions to adjust any custom permissions you might have per Forum.
