    Where is New Posts setting?

Looking for where I can change the time limit on the New Posts link. Also, how long a new post indicator stays "on."

vBulletin Options -> vBulletin Options -> General Settings -> Thread/Forum Read Marking Type

You want to change it to one of the database options instead of the cookie timeout option.

Directly under that is the timeout setting for the database options.

Also, if you do go the database way, be sure to go with the automatic one.

Very helpful! Thank you. Not sure I understand what the two database options are and how they function.

Automatic, will automatically mark forums as read once you read all the threads in it. Uses an additional query.

Non-Automatic will leave forums as unread, even if you read all the threads, you would have to manually mark them as read.
