Google Chome, vB3, and WYSIWYG editor?

Is there any way to make the wysiwyg editor function properly in Google Chrome?

To date, these two non-options have been the response:
    - From Google: it's vBulletin's fault.
    - From vB: Upgrade to vB4 for $xxx.

Has a third real solution ever been presented?

The vB3 wysiwyg, was developed long before Webkit/Safari had any decent level of wysiwyg support. I remember when Apple announced it back whenver their new version was out (long before chrome) Kier spent hours trying to get it to work. I think after that no further serious attention was given to webkit, aside from making the non-wysiwyg standard editor work with it.

You'd have to custom code something, or use a drop in replacement (still requires custom coding) to get updated support, vBulletin.org would be the best place to look. We didn't even truely support webkit/opera until 4.1.3.

The best - and frankly, only realistically viable - solution, is CKEditor which means vB4.
You have to move on sometime....
