Adding Advertising Widget Next To Banner

I cropped my banner to create a space in the upper far right so I can include a 200X200 advertising widget.

The widget itself has been copied to the server. Now how do I get it up in that space?

    Thanks...

If you edit the header template, you can add the code there

A .docx file? Aren't those Word files? And what if a user doesn't have word and visits your site? What you really want to do is make your ad an image so you can put it in there and all users will eb able to see it

Seeing it on your site so we can take a full look at the code there and around it rather than snippets and screenshots would be far easier

OK...I put the code back in...If you go to http://politicalwrinkles.com and use the "Default style" instead of the "Political Wrinkles" style, you can where the widget is underneath the banner instead of to the right, where it should be...

You have a couple of problems.
                        • Your header banner is not 200px high (it's 126px), so the 200x200 ad you want to place will throw the layout off.
                        • Your forum width is flexible, so there will be empty space on either side of the ad when the width of the browser window is more than 1107 and the ad will overlap the header image when the browser window is smaller than that.

My suggestion is to go ahead and leave your forum width flexible, but make sure the combination of your header image and your ad is no more than 960px wide and both have to be the same height. You can do this by setting a background image on <body> that is the faded blue sky and repeating it left to right (this would be an image only 3x200px).

Then you have your header image aligned to the left edge of your forum. That image can only be 760x200px. Now your ad will fit to the right of your header image and they will both be 200px high and a combined width of 960px. When the browser window is wider, the blue sky will fill the left and right sides. Some people still use smaller screen resolutions or browser windows, but your header will fit most, as long as the browser window is 1024 or wider.

The image examples below are very rudimentary - I just wanted to give you an idea what they'd look like.

To insert the ad code, go to the ad_header_logo template and put all of your widget code in there.

That's the basics. If it were mine, I would make the images a little different. Same design, but the sky would be separated from the rest and the lightest part at the bottom would extend all the way to the bottom of the page. See the background of my own forum as an example (link in my sig). The rest of the image would be a transparent PNG and the height would be enough to have it float behind the navbar. I'd also get rid of most of the stock vB icons and use something specific to your website style.

                          eJM(Jim),

I reshaped the banner to 758x200.

I then removed the widget code from the header template and put it in the ad_header_logo template.

The reshaped banner shows up but the widget doesn't.

You just cropped my "rudimentary" image. Don't use that image, it's ugly as sin. It's a friggin' patchwork quilt of bits and pieces of the images I found on your site and PhotoBucket. If you didn't create that image, then ask the person who did to provide you with a properly sized rendition. Or at least give the source image (if it was made with PhotoShop, then it would be the .PSD file) to someone who can do it.

I then removed the widget code from the header template and put it in the ad_header_logo template.
I don't see your widget code in the source code for either style you can select on your site. Are you sure you put the code in the ad_header_logo template for the correct style?

And why are you using such old versions of vBulletin and vBSEO? You should upgrade before you do anything else.

My host server doesn't have the requirements, and upgrading is too much for someone in my financial situation right now.
