Attachments Suddenly not working

Hi,
Everything was working find, but the ability to upload attachments has suddenly stopped working.

When posting, it says "You can not post attachments" so it's as if the permissions aren't correct. But I have verified that they are.

Here's how I have verified (maybe I'm missing something)

- VBulletin Options -> Message Attachment Options
Everything seems OK here

- Forums & Moderators -> Forum Permissions -
Have reviewed the necessary user groups and forums and the Can Upload Attachments is set to Yes

- Attachments - Attachment Storage Type
Saving to the filesystem and the path is valid

I have also gone under Maintenance and Diagnostics and a test upload works.

If I go under Users and go to View Forum Permissions for myself, it says I can post attachments in every forum.

What am I missing? Any help is appreciated!

So, can you post attachments from your regular member login? In how many browsers?

There are two options to add attachments using the paperclip/Manage Attachment button, the Asset Manager and the Standard Attachment Manager. From your description, you're using the Asset Manager which is full of bugs and very difficult to use. I suggest you disable it and use the Standard Attachment Manager.

Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Message Attachment Options -> Asset Manager - Enable -> No

Thanks - diagnosed this to a problem with memcached. Disabled it and the permission restored.

OT: I had a thought about a feature to prevent this. I would love to be able to have personal notes for each forum. There could be a notes section that appears (by user's) choice. They would appear similar to notices but owned/created by each user for themselves. Therefore, I could post a reminder or notice to myself every time I'm in the 3.8 forum and thinking it's vb4. (i.e. I click into a thread from "What's New" and a personal note appears if I've set one for that specific forum...) Hmmm. something to think about.

The problem is when we use the What's New? the forum title really needs to be under the thread title so we can easily see which forum the thread is in. Currently it's all the way in the last column which sucks.

It was actually done like that when 4.0.0 came out but everyone hated it.

Good memory Mark. I know that many requested it to be in a column. On my forum I have added the forum name under the thread title and it's great. It's nice to have it in both places.
