Suspect hacking, want to reinstall vbulletin 3.8.7

No idea where the hacking might have occurred, but there is huge OUTBOUND traffic to amazon servers that is constantly crashing the site. Thinking of reinstalling vbulletin to clean it up. What is the best approach? I have a large number of plugins installed. I have tried deactivating them, but still it occurs.

Is there an easy way to reinstall VB and keep all my plugins?

Reinstalling? You realize you would lose all your data if you did that.

I would check your templates and see if that is where the problem is.

why wld i lose all my data? can't i keep the db and reuse it?

Not if you do a totally new install, no. You can only keep the old data if you use the old database and that would not be a new install.
