Use the DIFF files provided until a new Beta is released. There are step by step instructions linked to in the Patch thread as well.

Are you referring to this? http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/filed...tch?id=4024549

Because that only shows changes in two files, functions_misc.php and forumdisplay.php, whereas the patch file contains more files than that..

The patch download for vBulletin 3.8.7 is a cumulative patch and includes all the files from PL1, PL2. and PL3 as well as the current patch. That is why it has more files within in.

I attempted to apply the patch but instead it froze my forum and made the server load really high. I had to revert files before it crashed the server.. what could be causing this?

Shouldn't cause any issues, there's nothing in the files that would do that.

Revert to your old files, and try the manual patch instructions, see if that helps.

Just to add, I did the manual patch instructions and it worked out fine.

                      Stress levels are now lowering.

Now I have to update another forum.

                      Thanks,
