When you choose the delete posts as spam action and decide to ban the user, it doesn't attach an reason to the banned user why they were banned. this is very frustrating for me. it's a handy tool, over time my modcp is confusing because I don't know why half of my banned members were banned.
no ban record when "delete posts as spam"

yes, but it doesn't show in their infraction page. it's very inconvenient to have to check two places.Comment

I don't see why the infraction page would show a ban reason, its not an infraction, its a ban. Bans show in the ban manager.Comment

yes that makes perfect sense as a programmer, but not a user. with my large forum, we juggle many many users a day. it is inconvenient because if we want to know why someone was banned we will first check the infraction page because most bans are the result of infractions. if we see no infractions well then we need to do a few more steps and go to the modcp ban manager and tinker with that a bit. It would be vastly more convenient if there were a little note in member profile or infraction page that gave the ban reason.Comment

I am not a programer, fwiw. The ban spammer function is not an infraction, its a direct ban.
You could ask the persons banning the spammers to issue an infraction first, or to leave a note on their account.Comment
