It's good to know that altough vB3 EOL timer reached zero, the management do seem to care about their products, regardless the version. The ultimate goal of all is to have satisfied customers, if you ask me.
It's my belief, after testing both vB3 and vB4, that vB3 it's lighter at resource usage and a better choice. And when it will be released as the final stable version, am going to use it, mainly because I've had some ugly experiences with vB4.

Not exactly sure what this is about. There are about 35 issues updated in 3.8.8.

You can see them all as sub issues of http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBIII-12883

              Hurrah!

Im really glad to see another version of the vBulletin 3 branch. Even though this is only minimal fixes, it really simplifies the life for us still running vB 3 boards.

Sorry Paul- those were the only 3 issues listed in the tracker, here- http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/...rversion/10773

                It seemed small...

As a current user of vB 3.8.7 I'm happy that this needed update is being addressed. This will, once final is released, go a long way towards allow us to upgrade to more modern servers.

                    Thanks guys.

Thanks Paul! How much work was required to get it to this stage?

Didn't see the ability to download 3.8.8 Alpha for my site (I did pay the $50 fee for upgrades). 3.8.7 Patch 3 is the most-recent option.

When I said that I would pay for the upgrade so that vb3 can run on php5.4, that didn't translate to buying a vb5 license.

At this time you need a VB4 or VB5 license to download VB 3.8.8. If you have concerns about this please bring them up in the licensed customer feedback forum,. This thread is for technical discussion of the alpha version.

                            Thank You.

Thanks Paul, and the vB Team, for this nice update! All of my forums use version 3.8.7 so this is good news.
