Spammers Registering And Editing Their Signatures

I've been having issues with massive amounts of spammer registering everyday. I'm getting between 2,000 and 3,000 spammers that are trying to register. They're never posting anything - but they're trying to modify their signatures to include links to other sites. I've disabled the signatures feature for new members (also set all links posted on the site to nofollows), but they're still registering in massive quantities and trying to modifying their signatures.

Is there anything that can be done to block these members? They're all registering from different email addresses - mainly hotmail and yahoo.com.uk emails so I can't easily block the domains - and the ips are all different as well.

    I'm also using Captcha.

    Thank you for your assistance!
