    Getting error 330

    My site was working fine..suddenly started getting following error:

    Error 330 (net::ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED): Unknown error.

    Where should be the problem?

    Disable your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
    Note: Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit includes/config.php and add this line right under <?php

    PHP Code:
    define('DISABLE_HOOKS'true);
    Now, do you still have the same problem?

          Does your Admin CP still work?

          If so go to the Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Cookies and HTTP Header Options -> GZIP HTML Output -> Set to "No."

          And try again.

                If you upload a basic php file, something that just says:

                PHP Code:
                <?php
                echo "This is a test";
                Does it work in your browser?

                    You need to be on vBulletin 3.8.5 or higher to support PHP 5.3.0.

                    To resolve the original error message go into your Admin CP and then vBulletin Options -> vBulletin Options -> Cookie and HTTP Header Options.

                    Find the option to Enable GZIP Compression and turn it to No. Save at the bottom.

                    Your forums should no longer be double compressed. The most likely cause if your host installed mod_gzip or mod_deflate that does the compression for you so you don't need to do it in the software.

                        You can try these steps:

                        Run this query in phpMyAdmin:
                        Code:
                        update settings set value=0 where varname='gzipoutput';
                        Then upload tools.php in the do_not_upload folder to your server. Put it in the AdminCP directory.

                        Load it in your browser.

                        Click all the links related to the datastore to trigger it being updated.

                        Try your forums... Delete tools.php from your server.
