Promotions not working

Hi,

Trying to setup a promotions system to avoid spam from new users. Have being following the instructions here (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...from-new-users.) on multiple tests however when the post count is reached the user doesn't ever get promoted to the new user group.

Is there anything else that could be preventing this from happening?

This is in the comments for the promotions task:

We only check the users that have been active since the lastrun to save a bit of cpu time.

So, if your user isn't active after hitting the promotion criteria, they may not be promoted until they next hit the site.

Just also wondering, if we implement this on the live site will the current 'registered member' usergroup automatically be upgraded to the confirmed group?

Alternatively is it possible for new registrations to be put into a custom group where they get upgraded to the registered group after a few moderated posts?

You can run the Promotions task manually via AdminCP > Scheduled Tasks > Scheduled Task anager and it should pick up everyone.

New registrations will go into the Registered group automatically - to do otherwise requires modifying the code.
