HELP. "Invalid File Specified" - Plugin system

Vbulletin 3.8.4. This is a new installation of vbulletin. I'm getting an "Invalid File Specified" error when importing an xml file through the plugin system. Again, new installation of vbulletin, no posts, no hacks, no plugins, nada. It's a totally virgin vbulletin board. I'm also getting the error below by email:

What xml file are you trying to import? And are you sure it should be imported as a plugin and not a product?

Do you have a table called "datastore" in your database?

Hi. Thanks for that. I got it. It was my mistake. Imported wrong version of the file.

That is a cpnav file. You don't import it at all. You ftp it to the includes/xml directory

Yeah thanks Lynne. I should've said that I imported the wrong file, not the wrong version of the same file.
