    Moderation Que?

How do I turn off a moderation que? People are registering on my forum and SOME of them are put into a moderation que for some reason...not sure why. It is the usergroup "COPPA (Users Awaiting Moderation".

    They receive an email saying:

"Your account has been activated but you are currently in the moderation queue to be added to the forum."

Users are sent to the COPPA group if the are less than 13 years old (or at least they say so writing they birth date when registering). They are supposed to ask their parents to send you a form by email authorizing to use the forum, so you then move them to the registered group, and they can post freely. As far as I know, USA law forces you to ask for permission this way: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Childre...Protection_Act

You can disable this in the admin CP, settings > options > User Registration Options > COPPA Registration System.

I'm not an expert on USA law, probably some other forumer can help you more with that, but I'd say that you could run into legal problems if you disable COPPA and your site is directed to kids. Read this: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/busi...eft/bus45.shtm
