    vBulletin Database Error! Too many connections - Hostgator

    Hi I'm receiving a lot of these errors from my host: hostgator. They say the max connections are set at 25 I think this is a recent change as the errors have only just started occuring a couple of days ago. I'm wondering if the number of max connections is high enough to run a vbulletin software with about 20 active users. The plugins I have are VBSEO and VBGallery.

    Database error in vBulletin :

    mysql_connect() [<a href='function.mysql-connect'>function.mysql-connect</a>]: Too many connections
    /includes/class_core.php on line 311

    The server has maxed out the number of MySQL connections it allows. You can try turning persistent connections off by adding this to your config.php:
    PHP Code:
    $config['MasterServer']['usepconnect'] = 0
    But, if you still have the problem you will have to talk to your host about raising that limit. Also, see this Common MySQL Error Messages

    If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

      Hi thanks for answering. Persistent connections is already off and the host has refused to raise the limit.

        Well, then you can either put up with the errors on your site or move hosts.

          Request to be moved to another server, or as lynne said, find a new webhost

            Go with moving hosts. Hostgator is completely useless for any kind of large forum hosting these days.
            That's it. If you REALLY can't say ANYTHING nice to me at all on this forum, then I am going to go insanely mad at you. I've had enough of the UNTOLD ABUSE you are all giving me and you should really be CONSIDERATE of other people.
