My Live vB5 Site - NZEating.com
vBulletin Hosting | vBulletin Services - Need hosting for your vB? Need it installed? Something else? Let me take that hassle off your hands. -
How is making everyone have to log in again (which changing the prefix will cause) an ideal solution?
vBulletin is the issue because the cookie corruption issue ONLY happens on these sites with 3.8.4+
Your talking about in some cases savvy users who are asking:
I'm on 50 other sites, why is your site the only site where I have to jump through hoops to log-into.
I can lie to them and tell them it's just them, or I could tell them the truth and tell them that the problem lies with vBulletin but that vBulletin refuses to acknowledge there's a problem and come up with a proper fix?Comment

Cookie corruption is a generic issue that can face anywebsite with any levle of third party javascript/addons/bridges/intergration. Its not limited to vBulletin (any version).Comment

Zachery, please take a look at the last page in this thread:
Are you honestly going to tell me that all of the sudden, across multiple sites hosted on multiple servers we are having a huge rash of these "corrupt" cookies and it has nothing to do with VB?
BTW, tested this on one of the sites and changing the cookie prefix prompted the user to login again but did not fix the corrupt cookie issue.Comment

What is your cookie domain, cookie path, and cookie prefix. Also what is the URL set in the forum url as well as what url people normally try to login at. Additionally are you redirecting people from www to non www, or vise versa?Comment

Users on my site are complaining about this problem also. The thing that these users have in common is that all use Internet Explorer. We need to figure out the problem and find a solution because this is a wide spread problem affecting a lot of users.Comment

Version: 3.6.8

If this has started randomly on your forum with 3.6.8 its from an external issue. We cannot possible change anything on your site. Try clearing your cookies and making sure after you clear them to close all of your browser windows and make sure the task/process has ended before logging back in.Comment
