I'm going back and forth with my host (HostGator) right now trying to resolve the issue. They're telling me that I need to contact them while it's happening so that they can identify the source, but their responses are so delayed that I don't think this is feasible. I'm also told that max_connections is set to 100, and that it cannot be increased. Could a specific modification be causing this, or is it the number of visitors I'm receiving? The most amount of people I've had online at one time is 26.
