Banning IP Addresses and Performance Implications

Hi everyone,
Currently, my list of banned IP addresses is around a 1000. Is there a performance impact for having that many IP addresses stored in the MySQL DB that vBulletin uses?

I can always migrate them over to a .htaccess file.
