    Try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
    Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

    PHP Code:
    define('DISABLE_HOOKS'true);

          What version of php are you using? You said nothing about an upgrade of php in your first post.

              Sorry about that. Our host has up-graded php to 5.3 and this has suddenly occured and they say it is a fault in the vb script.

                  Are we seriously saying that VBulletin 3.8.4 wont run with php 5.3?

                  The story so far ...........

                  my host upgrades to php 5.3
                  one of my sites is then down ....... simple

                  the solution im told is the "poor mans" fix in the bug tracker link !

                  Surely we have a real fix available so the site can run on 5.3

                  i have tried the
                  define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

                  still no joy

                    Did you read the bug report at all? The fix is posted right in there.

                      yes read the bug report (as you would given the fact you did say "read the bug report")

                      ok in simple terms i dont understand the fix - so how do we stand now .............. host say its the script -

                      im taking it the fix is "Turn of show_errors errors in php.ini."

                        If you are already running 3.8.4, then you need to modify your php.ini file to not show errors. I believe the setting is called display_errors, however you should ask for clarification in the bug report or put in a support ticket if need be.
