Text links URL to search memberlist

Hi there, I have been reading the excellent tutorial on these forums for building search text strings for the memberlist which is a really useful and powerful thing. Thank you for that.

I would also like to know how to add the text string that is to be searched but from another field in the profile.

eg: your example

http://www.yoursite.com/forum/memberlist.php?do=getall&field2=vbulletin&field6=3&field5[]=4

but to replace the word vbulletin with a word that is in a different profile field for example the text that is ina profile field 12.

I forgot, i better point out the link is for a logged in user and going on the forumhome template and i know if it wasn't I could not use a field from the users profile.

The theory is if a user has "volkswagon" in field12 then volkswagon is placed into the search from the logged in users profile. The field type will be text.

Hi again, I'll bump this up as I find it unusual not to have a reply.

I really want to create a link on the forum home for a member list search that includes profile fields for the logged in member in the search string.

I have been trying all sorts since this thread and can't generate the link.

Sorry, there is no function to do this. This requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.
