AOL registration ip's

Have been looking into a problem that a few members are having lately (all AOL users) and I have noticed that the ones having the problems have the exact same registration ip recorded in their admincp profile with other members.

Right now I have found 6 members who share the same ip address with other members and they are all AOL users. So two members have the same ip, then another two have the same ip but different ip then the first two, and the last two again the same ip but different than the others.

Is this normal? I know that AOL uses open proxies but when they are registering shouldn't the ip get checked and not allow the same one to be used?

Yes, AOL uses a huge network of ipaddresses and prefetch servers, so it is very possible your users had the same ip. AOL is horrible for this.
