Send "reason for deletion" automatically via PM to user?

Does anyone know if there is a way to allow the admin to delete posts and also optionally provide a reason why the post was deleted that would be PM'ed to the user of that post? Thanks!

Sorry, there is no function to do this. This requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.

You could use the built in infraction system. It's a sure bet the reason for deletion is a violation of your forum policy. So running with that you could use the infraction system to handle the message.
Send the infraction first then delete the thread. If you set it up lIke in the picture you not only send a message to the thread owner but have a record of who did what and why.
Not sure if that's what you had in mind. My heads all fuzzy from the flu meds I'm taking.
