When I check to see who is online I get the users name, activity, IP etc. At the far right is a Instant Message box and it is always empty and I can't seem to find how it is supposed to work. Have any ideas?

How does a member enter something for one of the IM fields?
Where are those IM fields? I can't seem to find them. There probably there and if they have teeth I am trouble. I have looked.

Those are fields for Instant Messengers apps such as AIM, ICQ, etc. Your members your enter their account info in the appropriate fields in the User CP if they have accounts with those services and wish to be contacted that way.
