I noticed that if I disable the forum description from showing up by setting
admincp>vb options>forumdisplay options>Enable Forum Description to NO
It will take away the meta description that appears in Google's search results
so for example forum X will show in Goolge like this
Forum X
150 threads, thread starter, 200 views, bla bla
http://www.site.com/forum x
This of course damages the search ranking of that forum therefore am sure that all of you recommend to set that option to yes
The problem is that I have a customized vb notices for each forum telling guests and members what this and that forum is exactly about
Ultimately I ended up having double messages on the top saying basically the same (the description and the notice)
I don't want to disable those notices coz they increased the user engagement significantly
So is there any way to disable those forum descriptions from showing up yet keeping the meta the description intact so as not to adversely affect search rankings?
