Also
the code has changed significantly in 3.8
There are several other numbers in the new template such 18, 20, 100, 2, and others!

Can you show me what numbers to change exactly in 3.8 STANDARD_REDIRECT template

Yes the code has changed slightly, but that is the correct template. If you need help with specific template code then I recommend post in the template forum or on www.vbulletin.org.

Finally I've got it working

Here's the code number changes in case others are interested
Three numbers need to be changed (shown in red below)
I changed 100 to 500 and 2 to 5 and the redirect message is now taking the deserved amount of time
