What does the "+" mean next to certain users in the Who's Online Box?

Users who have turned on that they are not visible on the who's online. Invisble mode is visible for admins, and indicated with the + -
Actually I believe those are your contacts.

The plus sign (+) next to a person's name is your contacts and people who are on your friends list. Don't worry, it shouldn't alarm you at all. It's all positive.Aussiefootyforums

None of the regular users can see who is online any more. Myself as admin or mod can only see a small number of users, there are definately more that should be displaying. I'm running 5.1.1a9. -
