Need to display latest threads in a table on forum home page

Hi everyone,

I would like a table to appear at the top of my forum home page that lists the last 10 or so newest/updated threads.

I searched this forum and I tried following the steps here:

However, as discussed in another thread, this only works if guests are able to read the forums, so my table appeared but was empty.

We do not allow guests to view our forum, you must be a registered member of the forum to see any part of it.

So having said that, can someone please explain to me how I could set this up. Our vBulletin version is 3.8.3

Thanks for your reply, but that might be overkill for what we need to do. I'm just after a simple code to show a table with the latest posts, we don't won't to do anything else.

Does anyone have one?

Post #2 is about as simple as it gets. It's free, and only a few mouse clicks to get it running for exactly what you're asking for. You don't have to use all of the functionality. If all you want is posts displayed on the front page, that's all you have to use and it's pretty much set up by default straight out of the box.

Floris' thread that you linked was 4 years old. Things have changed a lot since then.

If you're waiting on a simpler solution, then... (insert the "Jeapordy" theme tune here).

OK... I'm not sure if I've explained myself properly.... I just want to add a table showing the latest posts/threads to the index page of my forum.

I have downloaded and installed VBadvanced CMPS, but it seems to be centered around creating new web pages and incorporating forum features on that page.

I don't want to create a web page. I don't want to replace my current forum index page.. I have it customised and perfectly set up.

All I want to do is add a simple table, showing the latest threads to my current forum index page. How do I do that within VBadvanced CMPS?

Sorry, there is no function to do this. This requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.
