One category to show sub-forums & one category to hide sub-forums.

Hello.

I have several categories.

On the main page, I want some categories to show the sub-forums within the forums. From the main page, I want one category not to show the sub-forums within forums. I want to be able to click on that forum name and then have the sub-forums displayed.

How do I set this up. I have been trying many config option but havent found anything that works. I wouldnt think this would be so hard to figure out.

This is for a new site I am creating. vBulletin v3.8.1

Example:

Category: (I want these subforums to be visible)
-forum
--subforum
--subforum

Category: (I dont want these sub-forums to be visible)
-forum
--subforum
--subforum

Custom code is required. Here is an old guide:

But this code needs to be adapted for the latest version. For example, there is no longer a phpinclude_start template. If you need help with this code then you can post on www.vbulletin.org .
