Forum is active setting to split forums?

Hi everyone, I know all about the tabbed modifications on vb.org.

I am wondering though, to achieve this could I just use the admincp setting: Forum is Active (Will not appear if set to no, but remains accessible if the forum's URL is known)

Then just put links into a header because I would know the url and then achieve a similar effect without modification of vbulletin?

Would that work? and if anyone has done it is there an example.

    thank you for reading this

Yes, that would work. But, it isn't as easy to configure and implement, and it wouldn't be using AJAX technology unless you code that yourself.

Please note that all customization discussion should take place at www.vbulletin.org.
    Regards,
    Nick

Thanks for the reply Nick. sorry about that!!, I thought I would ask here first to try and do it without modification.

I'll certainly try and find out if the benefits of Ajax will outweigh modifying a vb installation.
