How can I prevent view count from resetting when moving thread or post from one forum to another?

When you a move a thread the view count is preserved. A redirect can be left in the previous forum, and of course redirects don't have view counts.
Individual posts don't have view counts, only threads. So there is no view count when moving a post.
There are no options to change this view count behavior. -
Sorry, maybe I'm using the wrong terms. I'll try to explain it better below.
-Forum1
--Forum2
---Forum3
---testpost (reply = none)
I create a thread (testpost) in Forum3 and the thread has 10 views
I click on it to view the thread. In the same view, I select the post, click on move, then select Forum2, it will move and the views are reset. I tried it five times already and each time, it reset.Comment

That is normal when moving posts. Try moving the thread itself from the forumdisplay.php page, or from the Thread Tools menu on the showthread.php page.Comment

When merging threads the new thread will have the view counter of the destination thread. This doesn't apply to merging posts since posts don't have view counters.Comment

by CorbinHIs it possible to set up view count so that it reflects "unique" views? That is, if one member views a post 5 times it only gets counted as one view not 5 views.
