I updated to 3.8 several days ago and everything was fine. I left today and when I came back and tried to access my forums, it said there was a database error. All the files are still in place... so what do I do to fix this?

The most likely cause of this error is that the info in your config.php file is wrong or your db user does not have full permissions to this database. Please read this for all the known causes of this error:
