Problem with insert image posting in basic editor

as with 3.7, our NEW updated 3.8.0 is having issues in IE with inserting images from the std editor img button thingy.. see http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=291188 for screenshot and related details.

Any help here fixing this (reuploaded /clientscript/ieprompt.html with no effect) would be appreciated.

Edit: Apparently it also fails on the insert an email link as well..

Problems with the editor tools can be the result of a custom style. Try to reproduce it on a default style:

Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> [Add New Style]

Create a new style with no parent. Then click that style's name in the Style Manager to view your forum with that style. If the problem goes away on the default style then you know it's a style problem at which point you need to systematically revert your custom templates to isolate the problem.

Otherwise I suspect a client problem with that browser (especially since it only happens in that one browser).

first thing we tried.. its some BS with IE (we ALL know its junk) or the current ieprompt.html page.

attached is BRAND NEW no parent style showing it STILL errors.. and its not MY browser, as it works here. (screenshot 2)

If the same browser works on this forum then it must be a problem with your forum. Maybe a customization of some kind. Try disabling your plugins:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Plugin/Hook System

Also run a file check to look for customized files. Upload the original files if any problems are reported:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

You can also try installing a fresh test forum on your server to establish a base line.

makes no difference at all.. seems to fail with or without the hooks disabled.. also we ran a suspect file check right after the update. (to be sure)

Same with a brand new test install (see screenshot)

          now what?

Is there anything common to both your production and test forum? Perhaps a ".htaccess" file in the web root or something else?

We can take a look if you submit a trouble ticket with your forum and server info:

we use a redirector file (along with mod_rewrite) to gzip some css, js and so forth to reduce bw usage / allow user caching.. not suppose to affect html files.

edit: just commented it out (disabled it) and it makes no difference on the clean test install.

In that case we need to take a look for ourselves. Please submit a trouble ticket.

We're getting this same error... Can anyone tell us what the resolution was?

Running vB 3.8.1p1, error is only showing up in IE.

Thanks in advance for any assistance/info you can provide!
