Some Problems wit 3.8 RC1

[Cobra-J82]

Hi Guys,

Installing 3.8 RC1 on 3.7.4 PL1

1- Downloaded 3.8 RC1
- Uploaded the files to FTP
- http://www.site.com/install/upgrade.php
- Took me automaticaly to http://www.site.com/install/upgrade_380a2.php
- I Change link manualy to http://www.site.com/install/upgrade_380rc1.php
- Told me Script RC1 is not supported, I clicked the "Continue Installation Anyway" link and installed the RC1

2- After Installation
- I Click on http://www.site.com/usercp.php
- I Get this Error on Database:

So I Just Uploaded the 3.7.4 to ftp and Uploaded the database backup to the database (was real fun if you know what I mean lol)

A Quesion for knowledge:
Can I downgrade vb version?

Why did you change? You should let it it go upgrading step by step.

I never knew it starts jumping to upgrade files automaticaly, I always tought it goes directly to the final version, anyway good to know that.
I guess I have to give it another try some time later lol.

It will take you through each revision of the software untill the final upgrade.

Yea, the reason I thought so is that I always keep VB updated and used to install all Beta and RC on 3.7, but now, the version I have is 3.7.4 PL1 and wanted to jump to 3.8 RC1, looked a little wierd for me the installation process.

As stated the upgrade script goes to exactly the position it needs to in order to perform a full and proper upgrade. By skipping the upgrades to beta 2, beta 3 and beta 4, you caused harm to your database. You will need to restore the backup taken before you upgraded and upgrade properly or manually run the queries in each upgrade version.
