I'm trying to upgrade one of my sites. The license is active. However, whenever I try to upgrade it to 3.8 or the latest version of 3.7.4 it doesn't work. It goes through the entire upgrade process, then logs into the admincp.... and is still on version 3.7.3. I have no idea why. Advice?

I'm using 3.8.4 and can't upgrade any further without upgrading MySQL and PHP on my server. Unfortunately, there are several steps of incompatibility from 3.8.4 to 5, where the next version won't install...
